So, what is a Cinematographer? Also known as a D.O.P (Director of Photography), they are in charge of all technical and creative camera, lighting & sound decisions/crew on-set. Often the lead Camera Operator & Chief Editor, the Cinematographer works very closely with the Director throughout the Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production process to technically achieve their creative vision.
